After having filled all quarterfinal spots of BNP Paribas Poland Open, one thing is certain – there will be a new champion on the WTA Tour. Irina-Camelia Begu is out of the tournament and she was the last player with a title. The Romanian was eliminated by Katarzyna Kawa.

In the quarterfinal the Pole will face Katerina Kozlova. The Ukrainian lost the first set against Belarusian Alaksandra Sasnovich but did much better in the following two.

The only seeded player who’s still in the tournament is Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. It can be said that her second win (over Amina Anshba) came much easier than her first one (over Magdalena Fręch). Two sets instead of three gave her much more time to get ready for the third meeting – against Maryna Zanevska. The Belgian needed less than an hour to beat Viktoria Kuzmova.

In the bottom half of the draw two qualifiers are still present. Ekaterine Gorgodze of Georgia defeated Varvara Lepchenko of USA and will play against Kristina Kucova. The Slovakian won all four games that were missing yesterday in order for her to finish the match against Romania’s Irina Bara (she was 2:4 down in the final set).

The last quarterfinal pairing was already known on Wednesday – Hungarian qualifier Anna Bondar will play Tamara Korpatsch of Germany.
