The first day of the main tournament BNP PARIBAS POLAND Open is behind us. Tennis players finished the preliminaries and started the first-round games.

Already on the first day, the fans who saw the win of Maja Chwalińska did well. On the central court, the Pole defeated the Spanish – Rebeka Masarova 7:5 …

– The first set was close, and I struggled to find the game’s rhythm. I had problems with changing from grass to clay. Yet, I am happy to have won this match and have to opportunity to play other games. I hope it will only get better – Maja Chwalińska sums up. On the lower part of the ladder, in the 2nd round, Nadia Podoroska will face Laura Pigossi. Both players won their first clashes on the Legia Tenis&Golf courts in Warsaw in two sets. The tournament’s “No. 5” Caroline Garcia, who had a fierce clash with Misaki Doi 7:5, 6:4, calmly awaits her 2nd round opponent.

Unfortunately, the Polish pair Ania Hertel/Martyna Kubka dropped out in the 1st round of doubles, losing with Gamiz and Pigossi 3:6, 2:6.

Tomorrow, the next Polish matches are to come. On the central court, the fans will see, thanks to the wild card, Weronika Falkowska and Martyna Kubka in singles and Maja Chwalińska in pair with Jesika Maleckova from the Czech Republic in doubles. Danka Kovinic, Kristina Mladenovic and Jasmine Paolini will start their journeys with the tournament.
