We already know most of the pairs playing in the BNP PARIBAS Poland Open doubles tournament. Among the players is the vice-leader of the doubles WTA ranking Zhang Shuai from China, who will play in Warsaw with Laura Siegemund from Germany.

11 confirmed pairs are known and there are many Poles among them. On the third position are Katarzyna Piter and Alicja Rosolska, Katarzyna Kawa will play with Vivian Heisen and Paula Kania-Chodun with Renata Voracova. Maja Chwalińska and Jesika Maleckova as well as Ania Hertel and Martyna Kubka are on the waiting list.

– I am happy about the fact that not only in singles but also in doubles we will see a lot of Polish players, including the experienced pair Piter/Rosolska. The top seeds are Laura Siegemund and Shuai Zhang. The Chinese player is currently the second-best doubles player worldwide and has a history of triumphs in the Australian Open 2019 and US Open 2021. She has also played in this year’s Wimbledon paired with Elise Mertens. However, she is not the only successful player here. Many other tennis players are in the first 100 of the ranking – says the sports director of BNP PARIBAS Poland Open – Mariusz Fyrstenberg.

Sixteen doubles pairs will play for the win in the BNP PARIBAS Poland Open. The organisers will hand out two more wild cards. The complete list of the players will appear on Saturday 23rd July.
