After eliminating Iga Świątek in the quarter-final and a sure win with Jasmine Paolini in the semi-final, Caroline Garcia was the final’s favourite. The French player broke Ana Bogdan’s serves in the second gem. The Romanian player, however, quickly found herself, and the match became closer. Garcia used as many as three break points and won the first set, 6:4. In the second set, she began with 3:1 and did not lose a gem afterwards, winning 6:1.

– I am delighted and proud of how I played in the final. For the whole week, very different matches have come to me. Since the beginning, we have analysed a lot with my team. Only after the quarter-final with Iga I felt that I was able to get the title – assessed Caroline Garcia.

In the doubles final, at the end of the tournament, Katarzyna Kawa and Alicja Rosolska lost to Anna Danilina and Anna-Lena Friedsam at 4:6, 7:5 and 5:10.

– We played pretty well. However, we missed the super tie-break. That is what playing doubles is like. Just a few points decide the victory. We can, and we must count this whole week as successful, especially when this was our debut on the WTA tour – said Katarzyna Kawa.
